A Weekend in My World!!

Late posting this, but last weekend was great! It was my last “free” weekend before wedding and senior season is in full swing. I am very excited about all of my Nauvoo weddings and second shooting with Wendi and my rockin’ senior models. There will definitely be lots of blogging going on!

Anyway, back to the weekend! We had family in town from all over and my grandma hosted a little get together at her house on Saturday. I ended up spending the majority of my evening rolling around on the ground taking pictures of my little cousins. I wonder what all of the adults thought…lol. Oh well, I must say we had fun! Here is a little sampling of our silliness.

It was fun to just be silly and get some fun pictures.
And the main reason I had my camera there. My grandpa had all of his siblings in town and my grandma wanted to make sure I could take a picture of them. I’m pretty sure she reminded me to bring my camera at least 10 times, LOL. Well I brought it and here they are!

Adrianna Rocks it Out: Fort Madison Child Photographer

Last Sunday Miss Adrianna visited me for a session in her dance costumes. We had sooo much fun. She showed off all of her moves and was a huge ham for the camera. We shot her entire session outside and just had fun with it. This is a great way to capture the memories of dance class beyond that standard full body studio shot. I loved just letting her dance and twirl and be herself and I think she liked it too!

My lab has a Baby & Child contest every year. I’m a little late in the game on entering this year, but there is one round left. All entries are voted on by fellow professional photographers. I will be accepting a limited number of mini sessions for contest entries.
On location mini sessions are only $30 through June 20th. This mini session is 30 minutes long and may take place at the location of your choice or in your home. I have a ton of great ideas for awesome, unique children’s portraits, so let me know if you would like some suggestions. This is a great opportunity to get some fun lifestyle images of your children. I’m thinking flying a kite, lemonade stand, running through the sprinkler, rolling down a hill, making mud pies, playing with the dog type images. They make me smile. Check out Miss Adrianna from yesterday’s session! She was a little supermodel in her dance outfits.

Here are the guidelines for the contest:
For each qualifying round, the top five winners will be selected from the four categories and will receive a studio sample of their winning image. These winning portraits will be entered into the Final Round, which takes place during the month of July. The Final Round will be judged online by a panel of esteemed photographers. First, Second, and Third places, as well as two Honorable Mentions, will be announced for each category! Cash prizes for these winners include $2,000 for First, $1,000 for Second, $750 for Third, and $500 for each Honorable Mention. One portrait from the Final Round will also receive the highest of accolades — Grand Prize Winner. The cash prize will be $5,000 for this lucky winner! All cash prizes will be given to the families of the winning portraits.

Please contact me and right away if you are planning on scheduling. I am accepting a limited number of sessions and I don’t want you to miss out!

Little Graduates

The seniors aren’t the only ones graduating! My grandma is the director at Carousel Preschool in Ft. Madison. I started shooting their spring pictures last year and am very excited to do it for many years to come. There are so many cute kids that I just had to put it into a video. Enjoy!

Just have a few tweaks and a total image changeout (not a word, but I made it one) to do on the main site, then 2010 seniors, your site is next. I will be posting senior specials sometime in the next week, so keep your eye on the blog and the website.

I don’t think I can get away with another blog post without posting images-this is a photo blog, right?

We did Gavin’s newborn session in the comfort of his living room. He was so awesome, well behaved and wide-eyed. Can you believe he is only a week and a half old in these images?!

Kaitlyn and Mallory visted me this week for 3 month photos. They are just so round and adorable. Twins are so fun!

I can’t believe how fast kids grown. Check out much these two have grown since my last session with them!
